About us
Our team is led by Benjamin Heginbotham, an experienced architectural designer with a background in construction.
Ben began his career as a joiner/kitchen cabinet maker before going on to manage residential build sites, working for 10 years on countless home extensions, refurbishments and renovations. He then went on to complete a degree in architecture (Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Part One) in Leeds.
After settling in Nottingham, he has been honing his skills over the last few years as a designer, helping to design over 500 home extensions across the region.
Ben launched The Practical Planning Company to make the process of designing and building your forever home easier, more transparent and more affordable. Our whole team is driven by a commitment to unparalleled customer service and providing the best in architectural design. We’re not Grand Designs - we could be, but we believe simply in giving people the space they deserve.
